Today’s feature is train birthday party ideas. Who doesn’t love Thomas the Tank Engine? We all do, right?!
We had some fun submissions by readers and some awesome finds on Pinterest that we like to inspire you with today, to throw an awesome train birthday party for your little one. Let’s start with my favorite Thomas the tank engine birthday cake.
Thomas The Tank Engine * Birthday Cake

This cake is nothing short of a labor of love. The fondant, the name cloud on front, the lovely train slates, which can be pulled off and eaten separately, and the 3 toys the kid will get at the end, when all the cake crumbs have vanished. It’s a tiered cake without going completely over the top, and the giant ‘2’ cake topper (partly visible) make it in a 3-tier cake.
To me, having a Thomas cake like this as centrepiece for your food and drink table is one of the best train birthday party ideas.
Train Birthday Party Ideas

Today’s Feature

Sometimes, intimate parties are more personal, allowing you more time for everyone that’s there. So, I had a good look last week over the linky party entries and one of my true favorite submissions was by Randa from Bewitched Kitchen. So, let me start with featuring her.
I love the vintage-bend of these train birthday party ideas. However, I recall loving trains myself as a kid and I can easily see a girl version of a train birthday party, as I can see a Thomas The Tank Engine – party, or ‘the journey’ – style party for classic romantic train rides.
I love luggage decoration; and if you are like me, you have several vintage suitcases used as storage and side tables, that can be re-purposed for your train birthday party.
Train decorations can also easily be fabricated out of cardboards. With some large pieces of cardboard, you can create a steam engine photo shoot setup, where each kid can poke his face out of the steam engine locomotive window… Tuut, tuut … I love this….
Invitations can be on mock train tickets, and thank you goodie bags can have a postcard of the event. Trains are a perfect party theme. Gosh, I wish I had a boy and I would throw him a train birthday party. What a bash that would be. Sorry, my creative mind is going wild….. Of course, for more ideas, go to the Bewitched Kitchen. Randa’s friend had lots of train birthday party ideas of her own there. So, go there, as this is her feature, after all.

Time for a Party
Now, it’s again linky party time. Thank you everyone for linking up here. All non-for-profit creative ideas are welcome, but we love seasonal, recycled, fun and beautiful tutorials. As that’s what Fine Craft Guild is about.
Let’s see your artistic endeavours:
Party rule: don’t forget to link back to the party; a text link in your post is best. Thank you so very much for linking up and linking back. (NO, to Etsy/things for sale. YES, to anything Thanksgiving).
Thank you for the fun party. Love the train party ideas.
Thanks for hosting such a great party. I find so much inspiration here.
Hello beautiful! It is always a pleasure to be a part of your party. Thank you for hosting. Please stop by our party. We would really appreciate that! Happy Wednesday! Lou Lou Girls
Thank you for hosting! Found a few new blogs to follow from here.
Hi Rose! I guess I have one foot in Christmas and one foot in Thanksgiving. Next time I see you I’ll be sharing a really fun project for Thanksgiving. I just need to get my photos edited. Ugh! That’s my least favorite part of blogging…slogging through all my photos to find the good ones. (“hopefully” find I should have said. ;) Hope it’s still lovely in London…tonight we will be getting snow. I hear 8-9 inches. I would prefer that Mother Nature wait until Christmas Day or January 1….but I don’t think she’s interested in my two cents!! LOL
All the best!
