Promenade Market Bag

You are here: Home / FREE TUTORIALS / Promenade Market Bag

market Tote bag Pattern Note that this pattern presupposes being able to buy this faux quilted fabric. It’s sold out but DO NOT DISPAIR….

You can simply make your own version.

Step 1. print the pattern as is provided here. Now you’ll have your base bag pattern ready.

Step 2. have yourself some pink lemonade and stare at these bags as they are. See how they created the layered look.

Step 3. take a deep breath, it will be easier and way more fun than you think than to simply use the store-bought kit (although I do agree with you that the fabrics shown here are gorgeous!

Step 4. Go over to your fabric stash and make a a stop by the stack of cloths you were planning to give to Goodwill.  Choose a base color/pattern and then look for add-ons. It’s simplest if you cut and make a base bag exactly as per the pattern.   Very easy sewing pattern.

Then, when you have the ‘work’ done, embellish. Play with contrasting fabrics, ribbons, buttons, flowers and whatnot, to create that lovely layered look.

Good luck and be sure to look at the other quilted bags we feature at Fine Craft Guild for ideas and tips on how to make your own.
