Description

This 3D Pumpkin Knitting Pattern-Straight Needles shows  you how to make adorably decorative 3D pumpkins.

And they are the ultimate stash busters! You need so little yarn for them. They can be made in any Fall color, and with almost any kind of yarn, and look great!

Try some interesting combo’s like greys with moss greens, or burnt orange, browns and even purples. Golden yellow or off white are suitable for pumpkin bodies too. You can get real artistic with these!

While this adorable little pumpkin makes a fun  Fall or festive Halloween decoration, feel free to cherish it year round by filling up the hollow and use it as a pincushion.

Yarn Used

For this pattern, for the body of the pumpkin, we used a worsted weight Rowan wool yarn in olive. The wool gives it body, and it’s of very nice quality.  For the stem we used Noro silk garden lite solo, which is a DK / 8 ply yarn.

However, the pumpkin may be knit in any weight yarn.  By using high quality yarn, you make your pumpkin into a keepsake.   We recommend using up some yarn remnants in your stash, as you’ll need very little of it.

Pumpkin Knitting Pattern-Straight Needles

This holiday softy pumpkin knitting pattern is knit flat with straight needles. It creates a hollow 3D pumpkin that stands firm.  The pattern also shares some other tips and tricks to make your pumpkin nice and firm.

The Knitting Pattern

Get ready for Fall by knitting up some adorable pumpkins. You can easily use this pattern to create a variety of neat pumpkins by varying your yarn, color and going up/down in needle size.

Enjoy!  This is a written pattern for a very simply project.  Yes, you can do it. This 3D pumpkin is a joy to knit.
