Tiered Ruffle Skirt Pattern for you. Womens fashion to sew as you like: whimsical, classic, elegant, romantic, old fashioned or fashion 2012. How it looks depends on your fabric and embellishments you choose to add.

Materials

  1. 2.5-3.5 yard of fabric (of 45″ width).
Formula: (your waist + 12 inches)/18 inch = length of fabric you’ll need, in yards.
Good fabric choices for this tiered ruffled pettycoat skirt are: white cotton lawn (= light weight fabric), muslin, broadcloth, sateen, taffeta.

  2. A great sewing machine. If you don’t have one yet, consider this affordable sewing machine by Brother, model CS6000i . It is arguably one of the most popular sewing machines around because of its great value for money.
  3. Sewing supplies: Gutermann thread (i.e. the best sewing machine thread there is, which will avoid any kind of thread-battling agony), 1/2″ Elastic (length= your waist + 3″); scissors: pins; safety pin etc.
