OPEN Linky Party :: WIP & FINISHED Projects

You are here: Home / FREE TUTORIALS / OPEN Linky Party :: WIP & FINISHED Projects

February 20, 2013 By Rose Fine Crafts

In the early morning, I meditate and to visualize my life the way I like it to be. This morning, all I could see is ‘half finished projects however. Yesterday’s endeavors!!! To complete!!! I simply could not to see anything new.

Then, I started my day and opened my craft cabinet looking for ribbons (to complete a half finished project), and all I could find is other half finished projects: at least 3 nearly crochet projects right there. Plus some organizational boxes that lack labels and thus content. I’m keeping empty boxes in my craft closet and the potential content, i.e. a mess next to it.

My unfinished work-in-progress projects range from nearly finished to barely there.

Nearly Finished Paper Flowers

For example, these lovely paper flowers still need templates for you and a blog tutorial, so that you can make gorgeous paper roses too.

A ‘Hello Kitty’ Granny Square Pencil case

The granny squares are done. Hello Kitty is designed. But it still needs a fabric backing and a zipper. Plus Hello Kitty’s bow needs to be sewn on. And a pattern to be written for you all.

Crochet Heart Rosette Bag Pattern

A stack of gorgeous heart rosettes to be made into a bag. The general bag design is there, but fun bag detail still need to be created.

Much-awaited Sock Monkey Rug Pattern

sock monkey rug

A nearly finished sock monkey rug. Pattern for you in the making… (Like how it’s coming along…?!!)

These are just four examples. There are ‘000s of these laying around. It’s all one big work-in-progress lollipop shop here! So, I’m thinking… “This is CRAZY!!!!! There’s half-finished work everywhere I look. What’s wrong with me??”

I mentioned this to my husband who chimes in: he also has many things to complete! Then, the Aha-erlebniss occurred in me. It must be the sign of the times, and you too probably are finding your hair graying at the thought of all this half-finishedness, and are readying to action to get all of it DONE!

AM I RIGHT??!!!

It might ring through for some of you. So, then, to spur each other on to finish stuff: the theme for today’s linky party is: HALF FINISHED PROJECTS… TO COMPLETE.

For those winning souls among you who managed to complete things, I’ll have a second link party below the first to link up completed works.  When you manage to finish the project this week, you can link up the same project (different photos) in both parties.  How about that?

So, today, show us: what have you… half finished??? All creative souls welcome. You can link up as many projects as you wish, but don’t link up stuff for sale, other linkies, or anything questionable. Other than that, I won’t limit your creative projects to any material or subject matter. Anything from stool makeovers, to kitchen renovations to scrapbooking goes.

Party Rules

Last but not least; the ONLY PARTY RULE IS: link back. From your blog to this bloggy. In-post or sidebar best. A text link (Fine Craft Guild) in your post is fine!

DIY Tutorials

If you prefer to use our party-image, then click into this text box, select All (ctrl A), Copy the code (ctrl C), and Paste it (ctrl V) into the code of your article that you are linking up. Then, re-save your blog article and you’re done.

Very nice party guest policies include:

  • 1) visit others in the party….
  • 2) share the party: pin / tweet / fb post / heart / google+ / stumble or otherwise spread the word, using the ‘share this’ widget at the end of this article.
  • 3) follow the host: Pinterest / Twitter / Facebook / WeHeartIt / LinkyFollower / Otherwise.
