Yes, this is easy. Actually, this is a project to file for when the kids are home, for weeks,, during the summer vacation. Let them help with the coiling and the gluing and you’ll have this beauty done in no time. Your own version thereof, of course. Copycats are no artwork.
The How-to
This pictures shows essentially how it’s done. Block covered with newsprint. Coiled paper strips glued on tightly together. Wear gloves or bear sticky hands.
