This is a delicate handmade bag with knitted cables * handles and a buckled strap. I just want to knit this so I can add that tiny buckle to it. Isn’t it adorable? Great one to add to our knitting patterns free on our site.
This pattern is not for absolute beginning knitters, but it is not that complicated either. Call it ‘an intermediate advanced’ knitting pattern. It means that you can do it, if you’ve knitted before and if you put your mind to it.
The bag itself is not that large. Excluding the handle section, it measures approximately 7 “ by 11” (measured at the bottom). So it won’t take all that long to complete, but it’s still large enough to carry quite a lot.
- Two Hanks Berroco Ultra Alpaca Yarn, (100 grs) ~ any color you want.
The pink is great for an attention-grabbing picture to fall in love with the bag’s shape, but the two natural colors that I am recommending here are likely to paired better with the current fashion and clothing currently in your wardrobe.
- Straight knitting needles, sizes 9 (5.50 mm) and 10 (6.00 mm)
- Crochet hook, size 4.50 mm (G)
Two double pointed knitting needles (dpn), size 5 (3.75 mm)
- Cable needle (cn)
- A 1” buckle
- 2 St markers
