No wonder pleated skirts never go out of fashion (or so it seems to me). Particularly in fun fabric like this tartan patterned one, they just put a smile on my face and wink to the best that is Fall: making cupcakes, fresh new school-year / work-year beginnings and sharing the happy abundance of the harvest season. And the slight crispiness in the air. Yes, all so fresh.
Picking the right fabric
To get this look, you really want to find a plaid or tartan style fabric design. As an alternative, use a houndstooth.

These are some actual fabric you could order online and use.
- Check out the Houndstooth and tartan fabrics on Amazon,
- or visit Craftsy’s Checks and plaids fabric section. I had a look for fabric that would suit this pattern, and I’d opt for any of the Robert Kaufmann designs. RK has beautiful quality fabric and their tartan and Americana plaid designs are perfect. Also check out his flannels.
